This is the simplest and most well known element of the precast bridge deck. The beam size and shape is easily adaptable to the deck specifications, reading to a wide range of beams depending on each individual situation.
IL SERIES Beams
With a height ranging from 0.60 to 1.10 m. and an upper head width of 0.80 m., this beam is used in short spans of up to 24 m.
IP SERIES Beams
With a height ranging from 1.20 to 1.95 m. and an upper head width of 1.40 m., these beams are usually used in multiple spam viaducts or large overpass / underpass crossing. This beam reaches up to 38 m. in length
IP SERIES Beams (Tall)
With a height ranging from 2.00 to 2.25 m. and an upper head width of 1.43 m. It is usually used in large viaducts with spasm up to 0.50 m. or to spam great distances such as rivers, ravines, etc. these beams are usually used in multiple spam viaducts or large overpass / underpass crossing. This beam reaches up to 38 m. in length.
TPP SERIES Beams (Upside I Beams)
With a height ranging from 0.75 to 1.85 m. and a lower head width of 1.80 m. and an upper width of 0.63 m. this beam can reach a maximum length of 40 m. The side by side placement of the lower beam heads results in an improved esthetic appearance.
TPP SERIES Beams (Flat Deck Beams).
Similar to Upside I Beams but with the difference that each beam head measures 1,80 m.
Generally, I-Beams are employed in the construction of isostatic bridges owing to their facility of construction. It is also possible to use them in hyperstatic structures although in this case it is necessary to install a brace on each piling in order to assure the continuity of the deck. |
